While designing the Atlasworxs Micro MDF CNC Router we were concerned about how the MDF components would be assembled. We feared that if the MDF was screwed together the holes would eventually be worn out if the machine ever had to be un-assembled for any reason. This is why we decided to come up with a better method of connecting the parts.
We have machined steel bar to Ø16mm with a threaded hole perpendicular to the axis. The threaded bush has then been oil blackened to prevent against rust, whilst also giving a great look. All our MDF machines will use this locking system. The threaded bushes can also be purchased from us for your own builds.
